NWSL is Playing for Pride!
NWSL x Athlete Ally 🌈
Athlete Ally believes that everyone should have equal access, opportunity, and experience in sports — regardless of your sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Their mission is to end homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the athletic community to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQI+ equality.
Women's soccer has paved the way for equity and inclusion in sport. The fabric of the NWSL league was woven by hands of LGBTQ+ athletes, front office staff, and their allies. This year, we’re partnering with Athlete Ally again on their annual Playing for Pride Campaign to support their mission to end homophobia and transphobia in sport. The NWSL will donate $150 for every assist and goal across the league in the month of June. Be a part of the movement to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights on and off the field by donating today. Together, we’re building the world’s strongest team: Team Inclusion.
Why goals and assists?
In 2023, the NWSL donated $200 for every goal in the month of June to Athlete Ally. Collectively, there were 76 goals in June and we donated over $15,000 to support Athlete Ally's mission to end homophobia and transphobia in sport.
This year, we're back and prouder than ever.
This year, our pride needs to be louder. We need to acknowledge not just the glory, but the journey. This year, we're donating $150 per every goal and every assist to symbolize the reality that no one get anywhere alone
Assist us in reaching our goals today by donating to the campaign and sharing it with your friends. When you watch the NWSL all pride month - know that every goal and assist represents our commitment to, and love of, the queer community.
